Fort Bluff – The hole in the rock trail

This photographic investigation focuses on the combination of historical and mediated architectural portrayal.

These domestic structures portray a glimpse of pioneer life within the 1880s within the Mormon settlement in South Eastern Utah.

The ‘original’ Bluff Fort has been rebuilt and is now open to the general public as an example of an early pioneer domestic community.

Only one original cabin can be seen (Barton Cabin) the rest are replicas.

The difference in building materials and construction methods can clearly be seen.
